Q: DO YOU REVIEW CVs FOR FREE?

A: Yes, simply email us your current CV and we will provide a brief report on what changes we think are necessary.

Q: WHY DO YOUR COSTS DIFFER?

A: We offer two levels of service, the standard CV writing service and the premium CV Writing Service.

This year’s graduate and student CVs are priced lower than the employed person’s standard CV as there is generally less information to translate and re-write.

Our Premium CV writing fees are structured according to your career level and the salary you aspire to.  Naturally, there is a vast difference in the amount of time and work involved in a top executive CV, when compared to a student CV which will have less content. 

However, even the most basic level premium CV is still guaranteed to receive a minimum of 4 hours work and will include a free email or 30 minute landline consultation.  Your CV will get our best attention until you are completely satisfied and you have 7 days to make as many amendments as you need to.

Q: HOW DO I PAY?

A: We accept Paypal for all our payment transactions. Simply go to the order page, select your service(s) and make the appropriate payment.  You should then upload or email us a copy of your existing CV and any other information.  Alternatively, a  specialist CV writing consultant will forward a questionnaire to you by email and request this is completed and returned, together with a copy of your most recent CV.

Q: WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY UP-FRONT?

A: Payment upfront is industry practise and allows us to book in your CV immediately and secure your writing slot.  By eliminating the risk of bad debt, we are able to keep our costs as competitive as possible. Furthermore, chasing payment can cause frustration and ill-feeling and we want you to recommend us and use our services again when you make your next career move.  Remember, we offer a satisfaction guarantee so you have a full 7 days to make as many amendments as you feel necessary to achieve the perfect CV

Q: WHAT IS THE ORDER PROCESS?

A: Our CV writing service is organised to ensure that you can expect to receive the first draft within 5 working days from receipt of the information requested, unless the express option is chosen.

To ensure that we can write a quality CV for you, we operate in the following way:

Step 1 Once you have placed the order for our services, we ask you to send us a copy of your current CV and complete our standard questionnaire to help us gather all the necessary information to produce a thorough and professionally written CV.
Step 2 For the standard CV service, your order will be booked in for its revision and re-write on the next available time slot.  For the premium CV service, we will organise a consultation to discuss your CV and career history further. This consultation can be done over the phone/Skype or simply by email, depending on your preference and availability.  Evening consultations can be booked from 6.30-7.30pm by appointment
Step 3 We will send you the initial draft of your newly written CV. You then have a period of 7 working days to raise any issues or discuss any changes required.
Step 4 Once we have received your comments, we finalize the document and send you your new professionally written CV by email in Word format. We can also post it to an employer directly for a small fee of £2.00.

 

Q: WHY ARE SOME CV WRITING SERVICES CHEAPER?

A: We specialise in bespoke CVs and assign a CV consultant to you from the outset to best fulfil your needs and requirements.  Our consultant will work with you and can spend up to 10 hours preparing your CV, perfecting its content and tone to best showcase your skills, talents, accomplishments and experience.  If you do get tempted by a cheaper price, please bear in mind it will unlikely be a CV written from scratch and tailored for you, whatever their claims.  Be wary of just how tailor-made it will be.  It will likely be a template or a simple re-type and re-format service.

What is more, many of our competitors sub-contract their CV writing work to home-based, self-employed writers who are paid about £10 to write your CV.  We NEVER do this, all our CVs are written in-house by CV Writers with proven skills.

Q: HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?

A: We don’t like to rush your CV and prefer to commit the necessary time it takes to perfect your CV.  We aim to send you a first draft within 10 working days for review.  However, we can accommodate express orders for a small additional fee and aim to have the CV ready for review within 72 hours.  If you are really in a rush, we can re-type, correct the format, check spelling and grammar within an 8 hour turnaround but bear in mind, we are generally unable to re-write it within this time.

Q: DO I NEED TO COMPLETE ANY FORMS?

A: Possibly, in addition to your existing CV and our telephone Skype, live chat or email consultations, we may ask that you complete a questionnaire.  This helps us tremendously in best representing you on your CV; we can never have enough information to work from as we will then select the most relevant points.  It might be considered a hassle but you are paying for a service and it will be worth the investment.

Q: HOW LONG WILL YOU KEEP MY CV?

A: We back up all our CVs indefinitely using a cloud based, secure storage system – just in case you come back to us when you are ready to make your next career move, and we hope you do!

Q: WHAT FORMAT WILL MY CV BE IN?

A: All our CV’s are prepared in either Adobe PDF or MS Word and are sent to clients via email. Posted CVs are available at an additional charge.

Q: HOW MANY PAGES WILL MY CV BE

A: For student or early career CVs, the document may only be one page long.  However, unless you have contracted a medical or IT CV, it is standard industry practise to create CVs, which are two pages in length.

Q: WHAT TYPE OF PAPER DO YOU USE?

A: To create a professional image, all our documents are printed on White or Cream Conquer Laid, 100g paper and the document is never folded!  Always send in your CV unfolded in an A4 envelope.

Q: DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS?

A: We provide very competitive rates and have substantially discounted our rates for students and all other job seekers to assist you in finding a job, despite the credit crunch.  From time to time we may run promotions or special offers for everyone, the unemployed or certain market sector.

Q: WILL I NEED TO SEE YOU PERSONALLY OR COME IN TO THE OFFICE?

A: No, we undertake all our works remotely via phone, live chat, Skype or email and occasionally, the post or fax.  We are based in Cambridgeshire but complete works for clients all over the world.  All our work is prepared in English and is tailored towards the UK market.  To keep our costs competitive for you, we do not purchase insurance cover which permits customers to visit our offices, therefore, we cannot conduct office-based interviews.  Due to restrictive costs, we do not offer home visits. However, we do carry professional indemnity insurance.

Q: WHAT IS THE SUCCESS RATE?

A: Unfortunately, this is immeasurable as we are unable to track all our customers and their success stories.  We judge our success by repeat business, recommendation and that we have maintained a 100% customer satisfaction rate since 2006.  The majority of our clients accept their CV without the need for any revisions, that has to reflect the skill and experience we have!

Q: CAN YOU GUARANTEE ME AN INTERVIEW?

A: As with most things in life, there are no definite guarantees and it is impossible to guarantee you an interview because there are so many external variables involved, which are beyond our control.  What we can say is that we will promote you to the best of our ability and make your CV stand out from the crowd.  Thus, significantly increasing your chances of interview selection; even in these difficult times.

Q: DO YOU USE A CALL ANSWERING SERVICE?

A: NO! Absolutely not! Did you know that many other CV writing agencies employ the services of a telephone answering company to handle their calls? We don’t, we prefer to speak to you directly and to save you call charges, we use Skype.  Our Skype user is @AngliaSolutions.  As technology has evolved, we found that most people prefer to use email or Skype to contact us.

A: Absolutely, we are registered with the Information Commissioners Office and comply with a DPA regulations.  We do not pass on any of your information or data to third parties and we use a secure cloud-based back up company to store your documents. A: Of course.  We have written CVs for people all over the world, in all sorts of professions, of differing ages and at various stages in their career.  Whether you are local, in the UK or overseas, we offer the same high quality service to our clients.  However, all our work is written in English and prepared for the UK market.
